Spring Activities

Local Restaurants

In Narragansett, try Champlin’s or George's, just a mile away, for three kinds of chowder, fresh lobster and other seafood on wooden benches or outdoor patios and decks. For more upscale dining, Spain is a favorite of the locals, Turtle Soup has a dining room with a view of the ocean and a recently addition to the local restaurant scene, Trio brings a little bit of Newport panache to Narragansett.

Newport

Newport is active all year long with boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cafés. Tour the mansions, visit the International Tennis Hall of Fame, or walk the cliff walk.

REcreation

Enjoy bike riding, kayaking, golf, or a walk on the beach. For a casual bike ride, we have a variety of bikes available. If you are a golfer, here is a listing of local public courses. If you like to kayak, the surrounding area (Point Judith Pond) is an ideal location. And there’s always a good stiff breeze if you enjoy windsurfing or kite flying.

Cooking Classes

How about some cooking classes? Store Four (401-783-7388) in nearby Wakefield, RI offers cooking classes. Watch, learn, eat and taste wine in a relaxed setting while the Chef prepares the recipes for the evening. You will receive copies of each recipe, learn additional tips and ideas, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions, take notes and interact with the Chef throughout the evening. Wakefield Liquors will match sample portions of wine to each recipe and explain why the food and wine makes a great match. This is truly an enjoyable night out!
